A Few Of My Favorite Things

Things I'm loving lately:
  • Sheepskin Rug - I've been on a search for one.  In a hallway, bathroom, or even thinking of layering it on top of my sisal rug in the living room.
  • Red Currant by Votivo- My favorite scent year around and at Christmas it comes in this festive muted silver cup.
  • Half coated denim by JBrand. Have to get my hands on a pair!
  • This Missoni infinity scarf will add some flare to my black coat.
  • Black wool coat by Burberry.  Timeless.  On my Christmas list.
  • Paperwhites adorn my home this time of year.

Christmas Trees

I am on the lookout for a small potted Christmas Tree.  It's a no-brainer for small spaces and I love the idea of keeping it in its natural state.  Then, I can plant when finished.

A Perfect Kitchen

As we all know, I am totally in love with all things white and rustic.  This kitchen is an elegant balance of both.  And all the details are nearly perfection.

The Peak of Rustic Chic

I have kept this December 2010 issue issue of ElleDecor in hopes to use as a frame of reference when building my cabin in Jackson Hole one day.

Mary Lynn Turner and her two daughters designed their family's rustic-chic home that sits along the Big Wood River in Ketchum, Idaho.  It's so french and so cozy and so huge!  I wouldn't change a thing.

Black and Camel

The combination of black and camel is by far one of my most desired when it starts to get chilly out.  In my new life, I have become more of a price-conscious shopper eventhough it pains me!  It's hard to spend a lot on an outfit, knowing I still have TONS to buy for my new apartment.   I have paired together a few of my somewhat affordable favs.

1. Camel skinnys: Yes, please.
2. Western belt: It reminds me of my Wyoming days. I'm wearing mine over blazers and sometimes in my belt loops.
3. Blazer: Can't get enough of them!
4. Scarf: OK so this is a splurge, but I've seen some cheaper- just can't seem to find them at the moment. I have this one but in different colors and it's great because you can show one or both colors.
5. Gold chain: Great for layering. I love how its simple detail gives it a little spunk.
6. Gold cuff: I bought this when I was in Nantucket. Great little purchase.  I love adding it to my silver bangles too.

Shades of Neutral

As Kate Middleton repeatedly wears her nude pumps, I am reminded each time how I need to incorporate some nude in to my world.

1. I cannot find a blazer in this color under $300!  This one is beautiful though.
2. Gold bangle on Pinterest to accesorize these nude hues.
3. I have this on my nails right now and guarantee it will be my "go to" from now on.  San-Tan-Tonio by OPI.
6. Love this neutral space found on Pinterest.

Leona

The 27 year old fashion designer, Lauren Leonard, from Tuscaloosa is all the talk with her fabulous clothing line, Leona.  Started back in 2008 out of her parents home after turning down a job in NYC, Lauren was "so determined not to fail".  She would call boutiques all around the country out of her parents home and tell them about her new line.  She would then pack up her mom's suburban and head off to each boutique with her samples.   Her line is now sold all over the world from Honduras to Chattanooga, TN.  Everything is designed in Lauren's Nashville studio, where she now resides.

Nantucket & Boston

From our cottage and it's view, the architecture, cobblestones, coffee shops, seafood, bike rides, beaches, and my dear friend Katie, our trip was AMAZING.  People "summer" in Nantucket and we decided to "fall" was best as we had the island to ourselves! To our dismay, we missed the beginning of scallop season by a mere 12 hours. But still, it was the best trip ever.

Happy Fall Y'all

It's officially the first week of fall and am thrilled the temperature proceeds it. This Japanese Maple wrapped in burlap gives this entry way a crisp, seasonal feel.

Rope

An inexpensive yet trendy way to hang, hold, display and cover things. Gives any space the rustic, farmhouse look. Rope. Love it.

Boho Chic

I hope one day I get the guts to incorporate some Bohemian inspired pieces in to a bedroom. I'm terrified to use bright colors.  Perhaps a guest room where I can go a little funky.  I also hope one day that I actually have a guest bedroom.
